Housing and Financial Resources Fair
September 29, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The City and County of Denver will be holding a housing and financial resource fair to promote economic prosperity among residents and businesses in southwest Denver. The fair will be held Thursday, September 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Lincoln High School, 2285 S. Federal Blvd.
The fair will feature a variety of resources to help people who are struggling to stay in their homes and apartments, as well as tools to help businesses keep their doors open. In addition, a number of financial empowerment and workforce training/employment programs will be shared. Offered in conjunction with Mile High Connects and the West Denver Renaissance Collaborative, the fair will include a network for more than 25 government and nonprofit organizations offering programs throughout Denver.
Light refreshments, childcare and Spanish translation services will be available. Sign language, CART services or other disability-related accommodations are available by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or 720-913-1999.
The fair will be the second in a series of events offered as a follow-up measure to the Denver Office of Economic Development’s Gentrification Study: Mitigating Involuntary Displacement, which was released earlier this year. Serving as a tool to guide future neighborhood public investments within Denver, the study identified neighborhoods where residents and businesses might be at risk of involuntary displacement. Upcoming resource fairs will be offered throughout the fall in other areas of Denver at risk of displacement as identified by the study.
