AGENDA

6:00pm - Arrive and mingle

6:30pm - Neighbor & Guest Introductions

6:40pm - 7:20 pm | Agenda Items

• Denver District 7 City Council Updates

• At-Large Candidate Forum for Denver City Council

• Florida/Arkansas Sanderson Gulch Project Updates

  • Florida/Arkansas Sanderson Gulch Project — City Plans & Community Impacts

City representatives will present plans for major construction along Sanderson Gulch intended to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety and address floodplain concerns. The project would also result in the removal of mature trees and habitat and the displacement of beavers and other wildlife. We’ll learn more about the proposed plans and timeline. This is an opportunity to ask questions and make your voice heard. The community may also take a vote on whether to continue supporting or withdraw support for the project as currently designed.

  • Beaver Coexistence & Infrastructure — Presentation by Nova Robbins-Waldstein Nova will share a scientific, data-driven perspective on beaver ecology, urban coexistence, and watershed function—and explore how beaver-friendly approaches can be incorporated into infrastructure and flood management. Her presentation will invite us to consider:

    • What happens when we allow living systems to become part of the infrastructure solution, rather than treating them as something infrastructure must work around or remove?

    • How could the next phase of Sanderson Gulch be designed with the beavers and ecological processes already underway, rather than removing and displacing the existing ecosystem?

• Park Cleanup & Movie Night with College View neighbors (Toy Story 3)

• And more!
