Sanderson Gulch Food Forest Community Perennial Planting Day
Wednesday, May 20 | 4:30–7:30 PM
Sanderson Gulch Food Forest (2047 W. Gunnison Pl Denver, CO 80223)
Join neighbors for an evening of planting, community connection, and caring for the land at the Sanderson Gulch Food Forest!
Thanks to support from the Pollinator Fund, we’ll be adding dozens of perennial plants to help create a more vibrant pollinator and wildlife habitat along the gulch. Together we’ll be bringing in a mix of Colorado native plants alongside select non-native medicinal and edible plants that support biodiversity, beauty, and community connection.
We’ll be focusing on:
🦋 Wildlife-supporting plants/ Coloradoscaping
🐝 Supporting Colorado’s thousands of native pollinators
🤝 Connecting with neighbors and the land
Whether you’re an experienced gardener or totally new to planting, all are welcome. Come get your hands in the soil, learn about perennial ecosystems, and help us continue transforming this space into a thriving community habitat.
We’ll have plenty of plants to put in the ground, but if you have healthy plant volunteers, divisions, or extra perennials in your garden that you’d like to share, feel free to bring them along! If you'd like to coordinate or discuss plants you may want to contribute to the food forest, email:

BYOB happy hour vibes encouraged — come hang out for a bit or stay the whole evening.
We hope to see you there!
